CASCINA TAVIJN

CASCINA TAVIJN - PIEMONTE, ITALIA
Nadia Verrua represents the fourth generation of Cascina 'Tavijn winemakers. His family began producing wine in 1908 for simple self-consumption, a table wine and not particularly elaborate. Nadia decided, together with the help of her father Ottavio, at the end of the 90s to continue the tradition by pursuing the idea of producing natural, living and true wines, with a personality, a history and an identity. Today the property is made up of 5 hectares of vineyard with native varieties such as Barbera, Grignolino and Ruchè with fairly young plants (from 5 to 15 years of age) completely surrounded by hazelnut groves (typical of Monferrato). In the cellar the wines are fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, pursuing an idea of wine where nothing must be added or removed. The result is sunny and joyful wines, delicious and very pleasant to drink.
